Maintenance
Once an Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) has been installed a homeowner is responsible for maintaining their system. There are numerous things to keep in mind when owning an OWTS such as, pumping the system regularly, inspecting and cleaning effluent filters, alternating fields if you have more than one, ensuring all components of the system are level and checking any pumps and floats to ensure they are working properly. These are some of the most common things that need to be maintained, however, there are many components to a septic system that need to be functioning correctly. Routine maintenance performed on your septic system can potentially add years of life to your system saving homeowners thousands in replacement costs. Maintaining an Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) is ultimately the responsibility of the homeowner. However, with Peak Septic Systems maintenance program we will put your mind at ease that your system will be operating at its highest level of efficiency possible, as many homeowners are unaware of how their system works and what parts need regular maintenance.
With our bi-annual maintenance program we will ensure all components are functioning normally as well as determine if the system needs any repairs. Any effluent filters present will be inspected and cleaned, in addition to a sludge and scum measurement within the septic tank, which determines the perfect time for your tank to be pumped. This will eliminate the mistake of a homeowner wasting money by having their septic tank pumped too early, or causing damage to the leach field by pumping the tank too late.
