The first step in Replacing concrete is removing the existing pad or structure. this is done may diffrent ways depending on the project the most common way is breaking up the concrete with a jack hammer and hauling off the debris during demo there will be areas that will no longer be accessable for example you would not be able to get a car out of a garage if we are ripping out the driveway becuses of this your project manager will try to pick a cluster of days that are nice to get your project done as quick as possible
The main reason concrete fails in poor preperation our team will decied baised off of your soil evaluation what is needed to give you a project that will last a life time
using class 6 roadbace we will build up areas that need to be bult up and add road bace to flat areas this will help water drain away from the pad and ensure good overall soil compaction
we will then form the project to specicfiactions outlined by the plans and what the customer wanted at this point if the customer is avalible we will as that they approve the forms and where they are loaced and how they are shaped.
final step in preperation is rebar we use 1/2in rebar in most projects due to the high falure rate of rebar mesh it takes alittle more time and costs alittle more but in the end this method has helped our projects last
Most concrete projects can be poured in the same day as preperation
Depending on the size and location of the project we will move concrete to the sight one of 3 ways
1. we will back the truck up and have it unload in to the forms this is the best option if at all possible
2. if the project is small enough but can not get a truck to it we can wheelbarrow concrete to the location this is an option for projects under 600 sf
3. for projects bigger than 600 sf we will need to get a concrete pump out to place the concrete in the proper area in a timely manner before it starts to set up
after we have placed all of the concrete we will begin to finish the project by using a trowle or a bull float to bring the fine aggregate to the top and push down the larger agregeate this step is very important to prevent spalling in the future after this we put the finishing touches on your project by adding a broom finish for traction or stamping it for beauty
